What's all the fuss about brakes
The principle of braking is very simple. Transforming kinetic energy (car movement) into caloric energy (heat). This process is achieved thru friction between the rotors and the pads. Good brake systems have several specificities. Among others, ability to sustain high heat bursts, ability to dissipate this heat before it gets thru the brake pads and boils the brake fluid, and ability to offer as much modulation to the brake pedal, which is achieved through caliper stiffness.
